Marc Foman (Owner)

Marc Foman is the owner and founder of Marc's Guitar Center. He and his wife Linda Volz have been operating the business since 1978. He holds a bachelor's degree in honors English from the University of Massachusetts. Marc has an extensive musical background both performing in bands and teaching guitar dating back to 1963. He has played in bands that reflect the evolving history of rock guitar from doo-wop to metal. You can often find him on the sales floor of his store talking about his two favorite subjects: Beatles music & music theory as it applies to the guitar fretboard.

 

Linda Volz (Co-Owner)

Linda Volz is Marc's wife and co-owner of Marc's Guitar Center. She runs the back office and keeps the rest of us out of trouble. Before joining Marc at the store in 1983 she taught elementary school. She has also taught piano & guitar. Linda has a BA degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts and plays classical piano in her “spare time.”
 

Paul (Store Manager, Sales, Repair Tech)

Paul Snyder is a repair technician and salesperson at Marc's Guitar Center. Originally from El Paso, TX, Paul is fluent in Spanish. His interests are 50's, 60's, and 70's rock ‘n' roll subcultures, collecting records and vintage gear. Paul has been playing guitar for 11 years, songwriting and performing in rock ‘n' roll bands for 10 years. Currently he can be found fronting his band THE DIRTY NOVELS around town.
 

Darrin Hargis (Instructor)

Darrin Hargis has been at Marc's for over twelve years teaching guitar, bass, mandolin, and banjo. In college he studied guitar at the University of New Mexico under Michael Chapdelaine and graduated on the Dean's list with a BA in music performance. In addition to his university studies, he has studied in master classes with great classical guitarists such as Ricardo Cobo, David Starobin (Peabody Institute), William Kannengiser (UCLA), and Bruce Holzeman (Florida State). During his university studies, he taught three summers at Hummingbird Music Camp. Darrin has performed extensively throughout the southwest with various groups including Micky Cruz and Sismo, Albuquerque Civic Light Opera (Musical Theater Southwest), and the New Mexico Reperatory Theater in such shows as Chicago, Blood Wedding, Three Penny Opera, and A Chorus Line
.

RJ Perez (Instructor)

RJ is the newest teaching addition to the store staff. He is a fun guy that loves to joke around. He is calm, cool, and laid back but serious about guitar. He is also in a local band called Civitas.
 

Mike Warner (Sales and Repairs)

Mike is an extremely helpful and knowledgeable salesman at Marc's Guitar. A musician his entire life with backgrounds in virtually all musical styles, he has the experience to help you choose the right instrument for you. He also helps Paul with repairs.
 

Joseph (Repairs and Sales)

 

Joseph is the newest addition to the Marc's Guitar sales floor and repair bench. He performs and records drone based experimental music under the name Luperci.
 

Danielle Easley (Bookkeeper)

 

Danielle can be found at Marc's helping Linda with all the various bookkeeping tasks.
